Today I went back to work but was sent back home for another month and a half. The shop is expanding and being renovated and a new artist is coming in, I will not be able to contribute to the shop productively in that time and will only be a burden until everyone is settled in. I did a ton of renovating to the original shop and my mentor thought this time I should be focusing on creating instead. I have many a great task to complete before I go back to work so I will not see a dull moment and I am grateful. Even though I am bummed and will miss it I know that professionals need their space.
It’s hard acknowledging and honoring how close to the bottom you really are sometimes.
Mentor had me make it blacker, add things of my own. Flash by Owen Jensen.
First ever watercolor traditional flash “set”. I only messed up coloring one set when I tried to do them in marker so I just forced myself to do the watercolor. Sorry about the shitty pictures, I’ll scan them eventually.
Better photo of yesterday’s piece. Technically my first “traditional” style tattoo.
Friday’s half sleeve! Wings! (inside, outside…somehow will weave them together!)
Took a bit, couldn’t be happier with it.

…now for the real deal, a “Beka” style foo dog. (Taken with instagram)
Yesterday’s piece, really had a great time putting it together. Color will be next sitting, but gave the face some detail for the wait. Thanks Miranda!
Tattoo #12. Today’s client, 1st sitting of most likely 2 - it will have a full night background with clouds and stars. My first “realism” style piece, bloodline to mag. Can’t fucking believe how much fun I had, I was so nervous going into it but that went away very quickly. Thank you so much for trusting me Dan!
Tomorrow anticipation. Can’t wait! (Taken with Instagram at Arrows & Embers)
Tomorrow’s action, but may still move some flowers around.

First coverup and first freehand tattoo, took two sessions, thanks so much Kerry for trusting me! Need to learn how to photograph my work better, that’s for damn sure!
