This week’s paycheck is going to come from designing a tuna and fly fishing site - so two equal businesses on the front page! I’ve never done a site like this, but the references they gave are actually good and the color palette is gorgeous so I don’t mind the challenge. It’s so rare that someone has classy taste I feel it necessary to record it.

Not one change to the 50 painted and laid out pages I submitted to the author and his team besides the addition of new characters and some more dialogue. The cover is a different story, but I haven’t painted that yet.
I still can’t believe I actually did this, and having clients so thrilled sends me to the moon.
But seriously, now I have to do 20 flash sheets with a cover not done....

So the book has been submitted and I got great word back this morning! I don’t suck! BUT now the client wants to add two more characters (all of his grandchildren are in the book already… but apparently since they wrote it a baby and toddler have joined the fam) and change the cover idea completely! So that every character is on the cover. Doubtful any extra compensation will be...

I’ve always loathed the font “present”, I’ve rarely seen it used tastefully. Today I was demanded to use it in a logo for a dentist’s office. Ugh.

Today I went back to work but was sent back home for another month and a half. The shop is expanding and being renovated and a new artist is coming in, I will not be able to contribute to the shop productively in that time and will only be a burden until everyone is settled in. I did a ton of renovating to the original shop and my mentor thought this time I should be focusing on creating instead....
